Has Amazon Jumped the Shark?

For two weeks now I've been getting one or two emails a day from an Amazon seller who sold me a dud product. I gave them a bad review, and they demand I remove it. Repeatedly. Twenty times, so far. I forward those emails to Amazon so they can deal with the seller, but they haven't.

This is Amazon's shark-jumping moment.

If they get aggressive with sellers violating the rules of Amazon, they should be punishing the sellers, but they are not. They are siding, as has Facebook recently, with those who provide income. Oddly, Amazon views the seller as the provider of its income, not the people who pay.

I'm trying to shop locally now, where customer care is better, I don't have to wait for or pay for shipping.

I'm not ready to give up my Prime membership, but it's close right now.
